September, one of the nicest months of the year, in my opinion, is flying by.  It is a month of apples, mums, harvests, and cooler nights.   Perhaps the fall color will be bright, or maybe the first frost of the season will touch the flowers.  This year so far our corner of Northeast PA has been blessed with loads of sunshine and above average temperatures.  The apples are plentiful on the trees and there are many varieties to pick at some local orchards. Tasty local cider is ready for purchase.  Wagons of pumpkins for sale are appearing, just to make me get ready for those pumpkin and cinnamon rich pastries for the table.  The warm temperatures keep the tomatoes growing as well as the peppers and herbs that spice up our breakfasts.  Who is ready for a hayride or scarecrow making?  Can’t give up on summer just yet? The beautiful days are even prettier when the skies are seen while hiking or from a kayak or canoe at Prompton State Park, or a pontoon boat on Lake Wallenpaupack.  The wildlife is busy getting ready for the winter.  Guests have been seeing deer, turkey and squirrels grazing through the yard.  Last week two guests saw an eagle flying over the inn, on their return from a day of hiking and biking!   Whatever activity you are dreaming for the last days of summer and early fall, make it a reality and book a getaway soon!
