1 Loaf Cinnamon Swirl Bread (or raisin)
10 eggs
6-8 oz. cream cheese
1-1/2 c. half & half
½ c. maple syrup
8 T. butter, melted
½ c. strawberry preserves (or your favorite flavor)

Spray 9×13 inch glass casserole.  Cube bread, and put half in bottom of pan.  Cut cold cream cheese into small pieces and dot across bread.  Drop preserves in small teaspoons across cheese and bread.  Cover with remaining bread cubes. Hand beat the eggs, then mix the remaining ingredients together with the eggs.  Pour the egg mixture over the entire dish.  Press the bread into the egg mixture to absorb.

Refrigerate overnight.  In the morning set the dish out for 20 minutes, bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 50 minutes.  Serves approx. 12.   Sprinkle with powered sugar for serving.

Our innkeeping secret is to purchase the variety and seasonal swirl breads from Pepperidge Farms.  We will then adjust the preserve flavors to enhance the bread.  One of our favorite combinations is Chocolate Chip Swirl with Red Raspberry Jam.  When the bread is rich as with the Chocolate Chip, I will reduce the butter to 4 Tbs.
