Christmas in the Village:  Saturday, December 3, 2016.  Events start at 2.

The James Manning House is proud to host the Wayne Highlands Chamber Choir singing Christmas Carols.  Also present, author Will Wyckoff, will be signing his new book.  And for your pleasure, seasonal “goodies” on the table, with full holiday decor throughout the inn.  Make your reservations soon.

Kellogg B&B, and The Mansion at Noble Lane.  There will be a “Tricky Tray” and tree lighting at Bethany Village.  The Bethany Library has invited Mrs. Claus for some fun and letter writing to Santa Claus.  Tour the Historical Society and more!

Honesdale for the Holidays!                                         November 25 & 26, 2016

Historic Honesdale offers up its famous holiday hospitality during the annual Honesdale for the Holidays event on Friday and Saturday, November 25 and 26, which is sponsored by The Dime Bank. Many of Honesdale’s fine stores and businesses will host “Open Houses” with seasonal warmth for their shoppers, clients and visitors. Stourbridge Line Train Rides:

Our favorite time of year is coming up fast!
It’s time for everyone’s favorite Santa Express and Winterfest train rides. Santa will be making a special trip to The Stourbridge Line to see all the boys and girls this year and if they are on the good list he will have a special present for them.  Our Santa Express Trains will be approximately 45 minutes and departs Honesdale towards White Mills. Everyone will have a chance to see Santa and take their picture with him as he makes his way through our heated passenger coaches.                                                                       All Santa Express trains depart our Honesdale Station.                                                         Santa Express Schedule:

 

Saturday November 26th and Sunday November 27th: Trains depart at 12:00 P.M. , 1:00 P.M. , and 2:00 P.M.                                                                                                           Saturday December 3rd and Sunday December 4th: Trains Depart at 12:00 P.M. , 1:00 P.M. , and 2:00 P.M.                                                                                                             Saturday December 17th and Sunday December 18th: Trains depart at 12:00 P.M. , 1:00 P.M. , and 2:00 P.M.                                                                                                         Santa Express tickets are $15.00 for Adults, $10.00 for kids 12 and under, and 2 and under are free if lap held.

Hawley Winterfest Schedule
Saturday December 10th and Sunday December 11th:
Winterfest Express departs Honesdale for Hawley at 11:00 A.M. (Approximately 4 hour layover in Hawley to enjoy the festivities)  Winterfest Flyer departs Hawley towards Lackawaxen (45 Minutes round trip) train departs at 12:00 P.M., 1:00 P.M., 2:00 P.M. And 3:00 P.M.  Winterfest Express returns to Honesdale at 4:00 P.M.                                   Santa will be joining us for the Winterfest trips as well and you will have a opportunity to get a picture with him and receive a special present as he makes he was through our heated passenger coaches.                                                                                         Winterfest Express (Honesdale to Hawley with layover) $20.00 for adults, $10.00 for kids 12 and under and 2 and under are free if lap held.  Winterfest Flyers (45 minutes round trip from Hawley towards Lackawaxen)$15.00 for adults, $10.00 for kids 12 and under, and 2 and under are free if lap held.                                                                                                   We recommend buying tickets ahead of time to ensure getting a seat on these popular train rides.  Visit our website www.thestourbridgeline.net or call us at (570) 470-2697 for tickets or more information.

Join us for our “Winter Extravaganza” on Sunday, December 11th from 12 to 3, for our “free mini-workshops” (about 20 minutes each)… These workshops are a prelude to classes that will begin in January.  Sample a taste of some of the classes that will be available in; photography, oil, acrylic, water color and abstract painting, figure drawing, sketching, printing and pastels, in addition to beading and wire wrapping.  In addition, for the holidays we have a tremendous selection of hand-made, one-of-a-kind, reasonably priced art for your home, business and all of your gift giving needs!  Join us during this “Winter Extravaganza”!  Shop local and help us to support the incredible work of these talented artists!

Winter Eagle-Watching Fun

Winter means eagles in the Upper Delaware River region! As lakes and rivers freeze over up north, hundreds of eagles migrate to our area for open water to fish, and large stands of trees to roost.
You’re invited to join us this winter season on an Eagle Watch bus tour or for Eagle Day on January 7th, where you’ll enjoy presentations with live birds of prey from Bill Streeter of the Delaware Valley Raptor Center. Eagle Watch Bus Tours:

Take a scenic drive with an expert guide on a heated bus while you look for and learn about eagles.  Advance registration is required and tours sell out annually; seats are $15 per person for Conservancy members or $20 for non-members.
