Sometimes winter can be a strange month in Northeast PA.  It’s cold, then it’s warm, it snows, or not, or we get stuck in the slush.  All this makes outdoor activities difficult to plan.  Personally, I like the snow.  I like to cross country ski and snowshoe.  Ice skating is fun while others ice fish.  My family enjoys a day of sledding.   So far this winter has been a bust for all those.  However, I’ve found another fun activity, regardless of mother nature.  Eagle watching.  Those majestic birds have made a come back in our area and a day along the river in January and into February will almost always result in a sighting or several.  Bring along your camera.  We have a wonderful organization in our area, Delaware Highlands Conservancy, that has been a predominant factor in the eagles return and is key to learning more about the eagles in our area.  In the winter they also provide bus tours for your benefit.
