Calling all train enthusiasts!  We are happy to talk about the Stourbrige Line getting “back on track”.  Under new ownership, we will hopefully see excursions again as soon as next summer.  Our train has been missed by the town of Honesdale and this is wonderful news.  The Stourbridge Lion was first run in Honesdale in 1829. Being the first steam locomotive run in the United States, it is now located in the Smithsonian, but visitors to our town can see a full scale replica in the Wayne County Historical Society. Tourists and local residents alike have fond memories of riding the rails with such distinguished guests as Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny.  Many remember trips to see the beautiful fall folliage along the line to Lackawaxen.  As for us we enjoyed seeing and hearing the train, and loved meeting the visitors who came to ride.  Hear more about the story from the local news:  http://wnep.com/2014/12/17/excursion-train-back-on-track/
